With star offensive lineman Will Campbell off to the 2025 NFL Draft, starting wideout CJ Daniels electing to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal and others set to depart, the LSU staff will be in a position to bring in players immediately.
For Kelly, he’s “excited” about what the next few months will provide with an opportunity to bring in immedate impact players via the portal.
It’s a new era of college football with the transfer portal becoming both a blessing and a curse.
“I’m excited about what the roster could look like,” Kelly said. “I’m excited about what kind of football team we can put on the field. It’s going to be a fun couple of months.”
LSU’s regular season ended exactly one week ago after a Week 14 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners on Nov. 30.

Rickie Collins: Quarterback
LSU quarterback Rickie Collins will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after two seasons in Baton Rouge, a source confirms to LSU Tigers On SI. 247 Sports’ Chris Hummer first reported the news.
The redshirt-freshman appeared in three games this season where he tallied 35 total yards on five passing attempts. He also logged 18 yards on four carries.
In 2023, Collins appeared in only one game during his true freshman campaign where he completed both of his passing attempts for 19 yards.
Collins utilized 2023 as a redshirt year during his first season with the LSU program.
