BREAKING: Thomas Ramos promises to stay loyal and committed to French rugby: Thomas Ramos promises that he will stay loyal to French rugby…..

Toulouse and France full-back Thomas Ramos has been handed a five-week ban for two separate incidents in last weekend’s clash with Sale Sharks.

The 27-year-old was red carded in the final minute for headbutting Byron McGuigan but was cited for another incident earlier in the match.

Ramos was alleged to have made contact with the eye area of Sale’s Gus Warr, an incident which was not shown by the local television director at the time despite the Sharks scrum-half being seen clutching his face.

Contested the citing complaint

An EPCR statement read: “Ramos accepted the red card decision, however, in relation to the citing complaint, he did not accept that he had made contact with the eye area of Warr.

“With regard to the citing, the committee upheld the complaint, finding that Ramos had made intentional contact with Warr’s eye area.”

Ramos was eventually handed a four-week ban for the headbutt and a five-week suspension for the earlier incident, but it was decided that he would be able to serve it concurrently.
